The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the greatest players would often challenge one another. Howard had access into several of the best minds in chess. With their help, Howard would hone his strategic thinking techniques. Howard applied these strategic concepts to the game of No-Limit texas hold’em.
He also assisted his sister Annie Duke learn poker. Annie Duke was a superb student of the game as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the correct decision. He told Annie Duke to head out to Vegas and play in the WSOP competition. She is one of the greatest women players the poker arena ever. He headed to Sin City in Nineteen Ninety Three and played cash games for the successive decade. When the WPT grew in popularity, Howard made the decision to compete in more tournaments.
