Howard Lederer grew up in a family of five where he enjoyed participating in numerous card games when he was young. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the best players would regularly challenge one another. He was able to access a few of the greatest players in chess. With their assistance, Howard would tweak his logical thinking abilities. He used these strategic concepts in the game of NL Texas Holdem.
Howard Lederer also assisted his sibling Annie Duke master the game of poker. Annie was a great student of poker as she would always be asking questions about the right way to make the proper decision. Howard told Annie to move out to Sin City and compete in the WSOP competition. Annie Duke is one of the best women players the poker arena today. Howard relocated to Sin City in Nineteen Ninety Three and competed in money games for the next 10 years. When the WPT gained popularity, Howard made the decision to compete in more tournaments.
